Pateley Bridge and Brimham Rocks Walk Sun 22nd

Postby Mountain_Bee » Mon Apr 16, 2018 5:41 pm

Hi all

this walk is now being lead by Maggie!

The next walk is from Pateley Bridge and takes us on a circular route via Brimham Rocks. The walk is about 5hrs and about 9/10 miles.

Meeting time: 10am
At: Nidd Walk Car Park in Pateley Bridge, HG3 5NA.

Please don’t underestimate the British Weather and bring warm and waterproof clothing, food, drinks and other usual day walk kit, maybe even some sun cream and sunglasses?

Car sharing advised, hope to see you.

Please post below if you intend to come along,
Thank you

Gutted, can’t make this one because of work. This is one of my favourite walks too. Have a good one.

I am planning on attending this. It will be my first walking meet, fingers crossed for nice weather. Driving from Headingley if anyone needs a lift?

Peter - slight aside (but it is related!) - I finally managed to walk a nearby circuit I've been meaning to do for years on Sunday. An incredible varied excursion involving moorland, Guisecliffe crag, Naught Bank, Pateley Bridge, the river Nidd, Glasshouses, Guisecliffe wood and Tarn (aka Mirkwood and that place where Excaliber ended up! ) and back. Would be very keen to lead that in autumn...

Sounds mystical James - best done on a foggy day to add to the ambience

Unfortunately due to being a bit snowed under at my end I won’t be able to lead the walk this Sunday. However the magnificent Maggie has stepped in and volunteered to lead it instead. I’m sure you will have a great day and I’ve booked good weather for you! Sorry I can’t join you.

Thank you Maggie and hope everyone has a lovely day and apologies again,

Bee

Not too sure about the magnificent bit, but I will do my best. I will add my mobile number in the private section in case anyone needs to contact me on Sunday morning.

Hello Hayley - To find the Private section log in to the LMC site. Go to the bulletin board and scroll to the bottom. The last item is the Private section. It is only visable when you are logged in.

Really good day even though the weather was not perfect. I'm afraid that's what happens when Bee's not there to control the clouds! Thanks to Hayley and to Steve, and Maggie for leading it.
