Annual Dinner 2017 Volunteering

Postby Marq » Fri Sep 22, 2017 7:30 am

As mentioned in the annual dinner thread I am sorting out a volunteering opportunity again with the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority for the Saturday of the dinner. Current plan is bridleway resurfacing near Feizor, so barrowing and shovelling. As before weather dependent though!

So might be a bit muddy / mucky but there are showers at the hostel for later on!

Given how much time we spend in the area I think it would be nice to give a little back.

Last year we had a good time. I might even visit the path on the Sunday to see how it has settled in after a year.

I have suggested a project for about 10 people. Please post up if you would like to help out. If there are more than 10 people interested I can get back to the ranger.

Lisa and I are keen.

Is it not a bit brave to revisit the old path, won't you be dissapointed when you see that they have ripped up all our efforts because we did such a bad job ;)

Paul - you are on the list!

Everyone else - can you please send to me a contact person with contact number in case of emergency. The YDNPA need them just for the day, they won't be used for any other purpose.

Thanks,
Marq

Plan is still path work near Feizor GRID SD783672. I've said we will aim to be there for 9.30 ish on Saturday. So aim to leave the hostel about 9 and we should be on time! Car sharing seems a sensible thing that we can sort out on the day.

Cheers,
Marq
