Just to say I'm looking for a 4th person for the via ferrata trip below.
I have not done this activity before, Ian has ...

Ferrata trip Sept 2018

Ian & Michelle Mateer, Me & one other

Ian's comments
Dates:
First week in September as most of the crowds go home at the end of August! ( and accommodation becomes cheaper)

Flights
There is a good selection of flights to Venice or Treviso

Transport
Hire a car for the week

Venue
Cortina is 2 hours from the airport. It's one of the best bases in the Dolomite's. Very beautiful with loads of accommodation, restaurants bars etc
https://www.dolomiti.org/en/cortina/

Accommodation
In Cortina itself. board would be B&B (aim for ~ £50 pppn ) and then eat out in the evening /apartment 120p/n 4 people

Via Ferrata: Cortina has an extensive range of them !
some general info on Collett's site at :
https://www.colletts.co.uk/dolomites/vi ... ctivities/
for some routes we get a head start by using a ski lift

Equipment:
Harness, Helmet, fingerless gloves and a via ferrata kit ( from £40 https://www.decathlon.co.uk/via-ferrata ... 72982.html )
can normally borrow a Harness and Helmet ( I've got a few )

I'd love to join you but as I cried on my one and only via ferrata effort in Chamonix I would suggest that it isn't a good idea!
