Annual Dinner 3rd-4th November 2017

Postby Lindsay M » Sun Sep 03, 2017 10:41 am

Greetings my fellow mountain loving compadres!

It is that time of year again – bookings are officially open for the LMC Annual Dinner 2017. We will be returning to Ingleton Hostel on 3rd-4th November. The cost is once again £62 per person (in your face inflation!) and includes 2 night’s accommodation, 2 breakfasts, 3 course dinner on Saturday and your entertainment. My company is included at no additional cost. Please send cheques to my home address in the private section. As usual, we may need to cash some cheques early to assist with cash flow.

Details of the accommodation can be found at http://www.ingletonhostel.co.uk
Ingleton Hostel can accommodate a maximum of 64 people.
• 2 Bed Private Room with shared facilities.
• 4 Bed Private Rooms with shared facilities.
• 5 Bed Family Ensuite Rooms, including one double bed (but in reality will accommodate 3 people and 1 lucky sod who hogs the big bed)
• 6 Bed Private Rooms
• 6 Bed Male Dorms
• 6 Bed Female Dorms
Bedding will be provided but make sure to heed the advice of Arthur Dent and bring your own towel. I suppose you could just not wash for the weekend, but for everyone’s sake I am strongly discouraging this.

The hostel has a Large Dining Room, Lounge, a TV lounge, and a Self Catering Kitchen. There is free WiFi for when you get bored talking to one another.

More from Lindsay:

"Friday
The hostel will be available for our sole use from 4pm on Friday. I have arranged that we can bring our own alcoholic beverages, but this means the hostel will not be able to sell us any.

Saturday
The dales are your oyster for all of our usual pursuits, with Ingleborough literally on the doorstep. If you prefer, a short drive will see you in the lakes. Should the weather decide not to cooperate, Ingleton climbing wall awaits and I will endeavour to negotiate some kind of group discount (I think it was offered for 10+ people last year).
Additionally, after the success of last year, we will be contacting the NPA to arrange some volunteering opportunities, so watch out for a separate thread on this in due course.

Saturday Evening
The photography competition will be running as usual. Again, watch for a separate thread with details of this which will appear in due course. Pre-dinner socialising is not mandatory but strongly encouraged.
At 7pm we will sit down for our three course meal, to be followed by speeches and awards. At 8:30ish, you will be cordially invited to the LMC Casino for Blackjack and Roulette. If you have any requests for the soundtrack, let me know or there’s a good chance you’ll be listening to Bon Jovi all night. All in all, it’s shaping up to be a fabulous evening which can be as glamorous or unglamorous as you want to make it.

Dinner Menu
TBC… Please let me know if you have any dietary requirements

Sorry, bad social sec has not finalised the dinner menu yet and is in the social sec naughty corner… I will have this in the next week or so. If you submit a cheque before the menu is up, I’ll get in contact with you to check what you want so you will still get dinner, promise!

Sunday
We need to tidy up and check out by 12 noon.

I’m literally bursting with excitement, it’s going to be an awesome weekend and I hope lots of you will be joining me."

Put my cheque in the post last week, but I guess it's still on its way as I used a 2nd class stamp.
